After long-term operation, the suitable operational conditions were obtained with the feed concentration of kitchen waste was 7.5% as TVS and the organic loading rate was 3.75kgTVS/m3-day. The results also showed the higher biomass energy conversation rate as 0.485Nm3/kgTVS and destruction of organic solids ratio was up to 66%. When the feeding concentration of kitchen waste was increased to 10% as TVS, the fibers increased and easy blocked in the pipeline; the system stability and the gas conversion rate were obvious decreased. On the other hand, the residue of substrate from the fermentation system was investigated the potential as the fertilizer. The results also showed the residues were successfully converted to solid and liquid fertilizer with the post-treatment process. Meanwhile, the solid fertilizer could give the highest growth rate in the following planting test. With high potential of biogas production, kitchen waste can be treated effectively by anaerobic fermentation process; from it energy and resource will be recovered simultaneous. The results clearly indicated that anaerobic process can be promoting for kitchen waste treatment as the alternative process in Taiwan. Wen-Chin Chen, Ph. D. Chih-Cheng Lin, Ph.
