Summary: | 碩士 === 雲林科技大學 === 環境與安全工程系碩士班 === 98 === In this study, waste carbon fibers were activated using heat treatment with various treating temperature and time, then these activated waste carbon fibers were applied to adsorption aqueous bisphenol A. Before and after activated, these waste carbon fibers were analyzed for the surface area measuring (BET meter) and the specific surface area increased after heat treatment. In addition, the results of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and zeta potential measuring indicated that surface characteristics of activated waste carbon fibers were changed.
The optimization of heat treatment was 650℃ and 1 hour and the absorption ability was increased about 50 % under pH 6 and 300 K. The adsorption capacity was only 19.1 mg/g at pH 6 before heat treatment however the adsorption capacity increased to 30.1 mg/g after the optimization of heat treatment.
In kinetic simulation, the suitable model was psedo-second order kinetic model. Moreover, the adsorption capacity increased with temperature and Tempkin isotherm showed the most fitting in all isotherms of this study. In simulation of thermodynamics, ΔH0 and ΔS0 of these systems were positive, and ΔG0 was negative, indicating endothermic reaction and spontaneity reacted.
