Quasi-experimental study design was used, including the experimental and control groups. Convenience sampling was adopted to select total 22 patients fulfilled with the criteria of traumatic brain injury for 6 months from the out-patient clinic, rehabilitation wards and neurosurgical wards of one medical center in Taipei. The patients of experimental group received the experimental treatment for 30 minutes every day, 3 days per week, for a total 2 weeks. Descriptive analysis, chi-square, t- test, Wilcoxon Singed-Rank Test and Backward Elimination Procedure regression were used to analyze the data. The results showed a significant improvement of intelligence in patients of the experimental group after 2-week interventions(p=.023、p=.004), but there was no significant difference between these 2 groups. Besides, there was a significant improvement of attention score in patients of both groups(p=.023、p=.004), but there was no significant difference between these 2 groups. The results analyzed by regression analysis showed a significant improvement of daily activity(t=-2.637/p=.017) and depression condition(t=-1.849/p=.017) in experimental group. Object of study's population attribute with each variable relational aspect, object of study's intelligent condition will be affected by the age, the melancholy condition will receive the marital status influence. Between object of study's disease attribute with each is variable relates, two group of object of study intelligence degree will receive is injured time GCS to affect, but the stupor time will significantly affect the object of study attention condition the result, the melancholy condition will receive is injured time GCS to affect. According to the finding of this prospective study, the attention training course can effectively improve the daily activity function and depression condition in patients with acute brain injury.
