Description
Summary:碩士 === 文藻外語學院 === 創意藝術產業研究所 === 98 === This study aims to explore the creation experience of a local artist, Su Hsin-Yi, after WWII in relation to the changing times. The researcher tried to understand his creative spirit in order to link it to the transformation of the space/time background in the local area and record the connection between his creations and spiritual sensation. The research methods are described as follows: (1) the artist reflcts the process of social transformation by using diverse media; the appearance and symbolic meanings of the artworks correspond to the political, economic and social changes; (2) after almost six decades, the local fine arts movements have played a significant role in the development of Taiwanese fine arts and Su Hsin-Yi cannot be neglected; (3) Su Hsin-Yi fulfills dual roles, as both art educators and creators. His experience can be taken as a fine example. The study targets include: (a) understanding the connection of creativity and life experience of the artist Su Hsin-Yi; (b) analyzing his viewpoints and concepts related to art; and (c) narrating his creative forms and media techniques. Literature analysis, interviews and analysis of artworks were all used in the triangulation method to understand his creative works so that the accuracy and reliability of the assessment could be confirmed. The conclusions show that: (i) his artworks reflect the transformation from local feelings to those of an urban culture and to a profound introspection in relation to his life experience and creations; (ii) based on his creation concept, his artworks are transformed from surrealism to a multiple abstract, then to post-modern aesthetics; and (iii) traditional materials were transformed into a variety of art forms and contents in terms of his creations.
