Description
Summary:碩士 === 台南科技大學 === 美術研究所 === 98 === This master''s thesis is an attempt at seeking out an intrinsic and unknown perspective on life. In the binary relationship between art and psychology, an irony can be perceived between painting and the mind. In the process of creating art, a sense of physical being constantly takes hold in an attempt to search for an intimate experience of life. It is through exploring one''s own body that inner feelings can be communicated to the external world. Through a series of self-questioning and self-answering, some questions may be stated: How does a transformation take place in between the artist and the artist''s life? How does an external element become an internal and personal perception through the medium of the physical body? If the body is a self-existing shell, can an intrinsic awareness or perception be made visible through operations of bodily behaviors? Based upon past literature on phenomenology and psychology, an introspective behavior may take place in order to examine the personal condition in which art is produced. On the notion of the contradicting momentum derived from the mind, discussions may be opened up regarding the control of the physical body, their characteristics and limitations as well as its clash with the mind, which exists as an ongoing paradoxical relationship.
