For example, the temperature, pH, electric field, magnetic field, light, bio-activity, and the change of ionic strength. Hence, it could be used in drug delivery system for artificial muscle, artificial organ, bio-sensor…etc. Now widely investigate smart hydrogel is temperature sensitive hydrogel, using LCST (lower critical solution temperature) to shift chemical and physic properties of hydrogels. In this study , using high power UV-light to irradiate AAm and AAc mixing solution, to form temperature sensitive hydrogels. This kind of hydrogels would change there structure at UCST (upper critical solution temperature), the color would be change at the same time immediately. This study discuss the effect that degree of polymerization by ratio of AAm to AAc concentration. Assay the characteristic of swelling and the effect of temperature…etc. The FT-IR shows that the peak of functional groups –COOH and -CONH2 of AAc and AAm, ,respectively ; then the DSC shows that the Tg is 6℃;the swelling is about one hundred ratio;then SEM micrographs to observation structure of hydrogels.
