This study adopted the quasi-experimental design. Two different classes of the fifth-grade elementary school students were the participants, one of the classes (n=30) which were given Problem-based Learning were categorized to PBL group, and the other (n=30) were given the traditional teaching. The experiment lasted for 8 weeks, and both groups participated in 40-minute physical education classes twice a week. Learning Attitude in Physical Education Scales (LAPES) and Problem-Solving Ability in Sports Climates Test (PSASCT) were employed before and after the experiment. The statistical methods included match-paired t-test and independent samples t-test. The findings of this study were as follows: 1. The students of PBL group were significantly improved in the factors of attitude toward learning environment and total learning attitude of LAPES. 2. The students of PBL group were significantly improved in the factors of interpretation, making decision, avoiding problems, and total problem solving ability of PSASCT. 3. The students of traditional teaching group had no significant difference in all factors of LAPES and PSASCT. 4. The students of PBL group were significantly superior to traditional teaching group in the factors of attitude in the class of LAPES. 5. The students of PBL group were significantly superior to traditional teaching group in the factors of avoiding problems and total problem solving ability of PSASCT.
