This study has resorted to 6 children of lower-grade students with inclination of emotional disturbance from an elementary school in Taoyuan County as its subjects of study, while Scale for Assessing Emotional Disturbance (SAED) is employed as the tool that will conduct pre-test and post-test assessment with all the subjects. The study will be lead in small group, and the subjects of research will be implemented once every week, with duration of 50 minute in every occasion. In total, there will be 12 occasions of Gestalt Approached Group.
The study will exploit its group processes as its primary content of analysis, and during the process of group counseling it will analyze the scenario of changes among group members during emotional awareness and expression. Besides, the study has conducted interviews respectively with home teachers and parents with structural questionnaire after the group session is completed, in the hope to appreciate the changes of the subjects outside the group. Thus, it can compare and correlate its quantitative and qualitative information.
The findings of this study are obtained as follows:
1. Gestalt Approached Group is helpful to lower-grade children with emotional disturbance as it could enhance their performance in terms of awareness.
2. Gestalt Approached Group is helpful to lower-grade children with emotional disturbance as it could enhance their awareness performance in outer zones, middle zones, and inner zones.
3. Gestalt Approached Group is helpful to lower-grade children with emotional disturbance as it could enhance their positive change in terms of their oral and non-oral expression of their emotion.
At the end, this study has based on the above-mentioned research results to carry out discussion, and put forth suggestions that can be utilized in practice and future research.
