This research is conducted as a single case study, where creative drama is used as the main method of teaching over an extended period of eight classes—as to observe the changes in children’s behavior, within a specific section of a third grade class of a Taipei County elementary school. Through qualitative research, the researcher is able to gather information to provide analysis. Document analysis, observations, and interviews serve as the main sources of information, along with the aid of visual recording, audio recording, music learning interest questionnaires, observational seating charts, and learning charts to aid the gathering of sources in order to form a conclusion to this research, observational seating charts and learning charts are used as aids to gather all sources--analysis of changes in the childrens' learning interest and the exploration of the practicality of the application of creative drama to music appreciation at the third-grade level in primary school. to Finally, one is able to formulate practical suggestions for teaching music appreciation, for subject teachers, and for future research usages. The abstract for the results of the research is listed in following: 1. Creative drama is able enhance children’s interest in music appreciation. This researcher, along with other researchers and data from other research, presents an increase in learning interest when creative drama is applied in music appreciation. 2. The usage of creative drama in music appreciation presents itself as a practical teaching method. The implication of creative drama increases the interaction between teachers and students, encouraging students to participate in class activities, and enhancing children’s learning interest. The difficulty of conducting this teaching method lies in the control of time, discipline, and spatial limitations. According to research, researchers suggest it is preferable to use a repertoire that incorporates, light, lyrical melodies that include instruments that present an array of nuances. In addition, one can also select music from the repertoire presented in the music textbooks. The content of the curriculum should be adjusted according to the abilities of the students. Finally, in order for music teachers to present art and humanities simultaneously, these subject teachers should explore the boundaries of performing arts and acquire these abilities.
