Summary:碩士 === 臺北市立教育大學 === 音樂學系教學碩士學位班 === 98 === The purpose of this research is to examine the application of music affective instruction on elementary students. The subjects are the forty two fourth graders at one elementary school in Taipei. The researcher designed music affective instruction materials integrated into the Arts and Humanities learning area curriculum, and the nine music classes were implemented. The research instruments include Children’s Emotional Intelligence Scale, music affective instruction materials and the worksheets which are both designed by the researcher. The researcher first conducted gathering and studying relevant literature to understand the spirit of affective education, which is the basis to make the designed music affective instruction materials appropriate for the fourth graders. By implementing the designed teaching activities, the researcher investigated the feasibility of the teaching materials and methodology. This study used qualitative research method for data collection and analysis. The used methods include observations, interviews, and analysis of documents, and supported by video, voice recording, and reflective diary as tools to collect primary data followed by axial coding of qualitative research method. By analyzing the results of worksheets in music learning, the researcher can evaluate the performance of music affective instruction. Results of the study are as the following: 1. After music affective instruction, students reached a significant level of emotional intelligence. 2. There were significant differences on the scores of emotional intelligence between the students’ genders. Finally, some suggestions were proposed for further instruction and future studies.
