Summary: | 碩士 === 臺北市立教育大學 === 幼兒教育學系碩士班 === 98 === The main purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between parenting behaviors and preschool children's self-control. This study utilized questionnaire survey method. The subjects were 136 preschool children and their parents in Keelung. The data were analyzed by using the method of descriptive and inferential statistics, including mean and standard deviation, two-way ANOVA mixed design and multiple regression analysis. The main findings were:
1.Preschool children's self-control in Keelung were above the average level.
2.The girls' persistence were better than boys'.
3.There was no difference in self-control of children aged four and five.
4.The most frequent parenting behavior was "guidance", followed by "responsiveness", and the least was "control".
5.Parenting' control behavior and children's self-control was negatively correlated.
6.The control parenting behavior and children's persistence was negatively correlated. When parents were more likely to use the control parenting behavior, the children's persistence is weaker.
7.The guidance parenting behavior and the consciousness in children's self-control were significantly related. When parents were more likely to use the guidance parenting behavior, the children's consciousness is stronger.
Finally, the study implications for family education, guidance for children and suggestions for future research are provided.
