The documents collected were in accordance with causes of light pollution, ideas of energy saving from lighting control, researches on security of evening illuminations and related cases study worldwide. The study proceeding to design an actual example of evening lighting environment surrounding Yi-Chin-Yuan based on analyzed results of collected data and cases. The design starts with analyzing the foundation and landscape of Yi-Chin-Yuan Then, outline the design concepts in connection with whole illumination effects as following: the theme of architecture – Palace of Light; the theme of plants – Three of Light; the theme of outdoor footpath – Path of Light; the theme of lawn – Hill of Light; the theme of pond – Lake of Light. In result, all building and landscaping elements surrounded Yi-Chin-Yuan will be well connected by the five lighting design concepts. Finally, the requirement on lamps choosing is to fulfill the five design concepts, the security lighting, avoiding the light pollution, etc. Recommending on the lamps styles and lighting is to include dual functionalities of design concept and illumination needs. Hopefully, through actual cases design planning, putting all high quality evening lighting environment conditions into practice and using evening lighting design results in this location as an example, we can improve overall current outdoor lighting quality.
