Recalling the development of Taiwan''s construction industry for many years, the Economy was always changed and also faces a lot of challenges. They have to face the impact from the environmental. After several waves of construction and real estate cycle, there are still a lot of construction companies survive to continue the business in this economic downturn environment, and some companies can even get growth, and this had a great relationship with company''s business model and operation management. Understanding the content and investigate the advantages and disadvantages of business model, it is an important factor affecting the business performance. This study was to investigate the construction industry business model in Taiwan. First, this study through the value chain to draw the process of this industry, and used the proportion of the activities of the value chain to classify self-built, integrated and mixed three operation types. Then, choosing two case companies for each type, and used financial indicators to observe the diversification between the companies and the types. At last, this study combined with SWOT analysis to examine the advantages and disadvantages of these business models. This study will give some recommendations and make conclusions of advantages and disadvantages for different operation types.
