Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北科技大學 === 工業工程與管理研究所 === 98 === Recently, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) has been widely applied across various industries as one of the key technologies to take humanity into the 21st century, with its global demand growing exponentially. Despite, however, its prevalence in daily life, RFID remains a pricy technology as RFID equipment remains costly. As such, most enterprises are still having lots of thoughts before ushering in RFID system as they are concerned about its cost-effectiveness. The objective of this research is to discuss the efficiency of RFID technology as part of the capital expenditure, and verify the academic theory from the literature through practices. This study consists of findings via in-depth interviews, professional periodicals, industrial publications, and case studies, among other secondary sources. Finally, the proposed methods are combined balance score card (BSC) and analyze the efficiency of installment of RFID in the case study. The questionnaires of case study is designed in a systematic way, which RFID Technology Import Equipment Asset Management System (RFID TIEAMS) is used to support the equipment inspection procedures. This RFID TIEAMS not only improves the smoothness and accuracy of data collection but also reduces labor requirement and risks of safety breaches. With such a system taking place, the company stands to benefit from simplified work flows, lower operating costs, and improved services to clients. This study provides a great solution reference for companies who are evaluating the RFID TIEAMS.
