In order to respond to the international control of green house gases and trade restrictions, national governments have actively prepared the energy conservation and reduction of carbon, low carbon economy and the recycling economy related strategy and execution measures. Based on sustainable development and corporate social responsibility, most enterprises make the relevant issues and practices in this regard as business objectives and vision, and put their products and environment-related management into their management mechanism. Some enterprises even make their products environmental friendly to enhance market competitiveness. "Carbon" issue is the new variable on the restriction of industry development in the period of carbon economy after the Kyoto Protocol. During the post-Kyoto period, not only "low-carbon products" be the world's most typical "green competitiveness" patterns, creating “carbon-different product” has become the new index in evaluating the international competitiveness of industry and the key to grasp the" carbon business opportunity". Therefore, how to enhance carbon risk management, improve the effectiveness of carbon-rights management, promote carbon decoupling together with the production of green products have become common and important issues for industrial sectors in Post-Kyoto period. The profits are quite modest for some traditional industries. For example, Its EPS of Taiwan's paper industry is below 1.0 for a long time. According to the investigation result, the economic scale of the paper industry in Taiwan has been behind several countries in Asia such as China, Indonesia, Korea and Japan. In particular, Japan has already put energy conservation, carbon reduction, low-carbon economy and cycle economy as its important and long-term operation issues. Even China has been vigorously promoting the cycle economy. Of course, under Taiwan government’s energy conservation and carbon reduction strategy, Taiwan’s paper industry has got some success. Foe example, a large industrial paper company Cheng Long Corporation has become the first company to officially obtain the international carbon right after the certification of carbon rights through voluntary carbon standards (VCS). The quota of up to 200 thousand tones of carbon right may create 1.2 million U.S. dollars in the future. In addition, up to 43 million acres of forest area produced by Ding-feng papermaking company joint-ventured by Yuen Fong Yu Company and China Paper companies, in addition to their timber value it is estimated a substantial carbon right business opportunity also implies. From this, companies building new energy-saving and carbon reduction processes and strategies in the manufacturing process, the effective application of carbon rights trading benefit and the creation of green products of carbon asset new business opportunities may become the source of competitive advantage and even become the foundation of sustainable operation of enterprises.
