Summary:碩士 === 亞洲大學 === 社會工作學系碩士班 === 98 === Abstract The purpose of this study is to explore the male social worker’s gender consciousness, occupational experience and fatherhood practice. Data were collected through semi-structured face-to-face in-depth interviews, and then analyzed by content analysis. Five in-service male social workers were involved in this study by purposive sampling. The results indicated: First, that their motivations for social work practice were positive and worthy. Second, by telling their life experience, express gender consciousness was process between the gender stereotype and awareness, and promoting fatherhood practice through consciousness-raising by themselves and re-learning in working field. Third, age and sex of children led to different fatherhood practice. Finally, spouse’s expectation of divisions of domestic labor is related to male’s lower salary in social work. According to the finding, some suggestions for male social worker and future studies were provide at the end. Keyword: Male social workers, gender consciousness, fatherhood.
