Summary:碩士 === 亞洲大學 === 健康產業管理學系長期照護組 在職專班 === 98 === This study aims to understand the factors associated to volunteering participation for community elderly. A structured questionnaire was used for data collection. The questionnaire included social-demographic information, External Cues to Action Scale, Barthel Index, Geriatric Depression Scale Short-Form, and Self-rated Health Condition Scale. 132 subjects met the study criteria were recruited. After excluding mild, moderate, severe and complete dependence defined by the Barthel Index, there were 117 subjects in the final sample. The numbers of elder volunteers and the community elderly were 62 and 55, respectively. Results show that the service time of the elder volunteers ranging from 2-30 hours per month with the average time 7.6 hours per person. The most popular sources of voluntary service information were activity flyers and television media. Bivariate analysis showed that age, religion, participation of families/friends in voluntary work and encouragement from families/friends to participate in volunteer work were significantly related to volunteering participation. According to the result in logistic regression analysis, religion, participation of families/friends in voluntary work and encouragement from families/friends to participate in volunteer work were prediction variables of community elderly volunteering participation.
