Summary: | 碩士 === 亞洲大學 === 資訊工程學系碩士在職專班 === 98 === The purpose of this research was to explore the distinction between different gender of elementary school students on performing spatial ability and the impact of computer games on developing children spatial ability in 4th and 6th grade. The researcher took cluster sampling and pretest-posttest experimental design as research tool and selected 124 students at Choung-Zhong elementary school in Taichung County as the objects. The sampling-- two classes (62 students) -- were from 4th and 6th grade.
The researcher chose five computer games and divided students into two groups. The experimental group accepted computer game activity teaching and the other control group without that. Put all students to the “Spatial ability scalogram for elementary school students“ before and after experimental time among 10 weeks. The researcher analyzed the data by SPSS and t-test. According to the results and analyses of the study, the conclusions are as follow:
1. There was no obvious distinction between different gender of elementary school students on performing spatial ability.
2. The impact of computer games on developing the awareness ability of children spatial recognition reached remarkable standard in 4th grade, however, there was no significant influence in 6th grade.
3. The effect on developing students’ space rotation ability reached the significant level both in 4th and 6th grade.
