And IS managers must equip with great competencies in dealing with crisis. Therefore, this research base on this starting point to discuss the requirement that IS managers need when deal with crisis events. This research is based on Wu’s Activity Competency Model. First of all, to find out crisis-dealing events that managers in IS department may be faced with through the literature review. These events can be distinguished into five topics to clearly define the crisis activities. Second, based on these events of IS managers, we conducted professions’ questionnaires as a pre-test to ensure the validity. Finally, we applied formal questionnaires. In conclusion, this research induces 21 competencies which are suitable for IS managers when dealing with crisis management. In addition, the conclusion can be used as an important reference for developing competencies for IS-related workers.
