Summary: | 碩士 === 南台科技大學 === 企業管理系 === 98 === At the 21st century, an age full of uncertainties when rapid development of information technology contributes to prospering development of social economy, people began to value the quality of life. Since working becomes an inevitable activity for everyone in modern society, the importance of teamwork is hence highlighted and all members in an organization become co-dependent.
Firefighting plays a crucial part to the welfare of the public as well as the safety of their lives and property. The more advanced a country is, the more it underscores firefighting and disaster relief. As the unusual global climate deteriorates, all sorts of disasters are becoming even more devastating, leading to serious casualties and property loss due to an increasing number of complex disasters. As a consequence, more professional police officers and firefighters are required to enter disaster relief force so as to prevent further aggravation of disaster damages.
This study investigated the effects on group cohesion and job satisfaction from organizational commitment, leadership style, and quality of working life by means of questionnaires conducted with results shown as follows:
1. “Educational background” had a positive effect on “job satisfaction.”
2. “Retention commitment” among “organizational commitment” had a positive effect on “group cohesion.”
3. “Initiating leadership” among “leadership style” had a positive effect on “group cohesion.”
4. “Peer and family support” among “quality of working life” had a positive effect on “group cohesion.”
5. “Value commitment” and “retention commitment” among “organizational commitment” had a positive effect on “job satisfaction.”
6. “Leadership style” had a positive effect on “job satisfaction.”
7. “Quality of working life” had a positive effect on “job satisfaction.”
8. “Group cohesion” had a positive effect on “job satisfaction.”
