Summary: | 碩士 === 南台科技大學 === 企業管理系 === 98 === The purpose of the study is to investigate the correlation among job demands, job
burnout and job resources of the employees in the semiconductor foundry industry.
Based on related literature both at home and abroad, the study modified the selected
“Job Demands Scale”, “Job Resources Scale” and “Job Burnout Scale” to facilitate
the measurement of semiconductor foundry industry employees, and to collect
empirical data. Employees in the two semiconductor foundries respectively in
Hsin-chu Science Park and Southern Taiwan Science Park served as the population.
The survey adopted stratified purposive sampling, with totally 450 questionnaires
issued and 430 of them retrieved. The response rate is 95.56%. Among them are 420
effective questionnaires, yielding an effective response rate of 93.33%. The main
findings are as follows:
(1). No significant difference of responses to job demands is shown between
employees working in different departments. However, the result suggests that
significant differences be shown between the six background variables, including
gender, age, educational background, seniority, department, and manager/non-manager,
and the five aspects under job demands.
(2). Certain significant differences of responses to job resources are shown between
employees of different sex.The result suggests that significant differences be shown
between the four background variables, including gender, age, seniority and
department, and the five aspects under job resources.
(3). Certain significant differences of responses to job burnout are shown between
employees of different sex and seniority. The result suggests that significant
differences be shown between the four background variables, including gender, age,
seniority and department, and the three aspects under job burnout.
(4). Job demands have a positive and remarkable effect on job burnout. In other
words, employees tend to feel burnout if their work load continues to increase and
exceeds their capability.
vii
(5). Job resources have an extraneous effect on job demands and job burnout.
This empirical analysis displays a significant and negative effect. It indicates that
the more “job resources” provided by the semiconductor foundry employers will not
necessarily make the employees reduce the “job burnout”, but will worsen the
problem of “ low professional performance” instead. Such important findings
