| Summary: | 碩士 === 世新大學 === 資訊管理學研究所(含碩專班) === 98 === In order to close the gap between the rates of Internet usage between regular users and users with disability, the Research, Development and Evaluation Commission, Executive Yan, is promoting Web Accessibility in three stages. First stage is to promote Web Accessibility in government organizations websites; second stage is targeted to promote Web Accessibility in schools and educational websites; third stage is to promote Web Accessibility in general and business websites. As for the first stage, it is easier to promote and complete Web Accessibility websites in government organizations because of the orders by the government. However, it is not the same for general and business websites since there is not much restrictions and pressure and this has made it harder to promote Web Accessibility.
Search Engine Optimization uses the technique of modifying website's to achieve a better ranking result in search engines. Some of the techniques such as using meta tag keyword and title tag are the same as WCAG standards. Therefore, the main purpose of this experiment is to examinateif ranking result can be improved in Google by build a website using WCAG standards and test img and alt tags attributes. As a result from this experiment, it is clear that images of a website are more likely to be indexed if alt tags were added. The result also shows websites with alt tags have better ranking result than the ones that does not have alt tags.
