His opuses showed simple and exquisite musical characteristics, and were full of elegant and pensive mood between lines of his music. “Suite de Trois Morceaux, op.116” was a latter opus of Godard, and was the only musical composition he created for the flute performance, which completed in 1890. It has successfully combined Salon music with the elegant quality of French music to display a sincere and wholehearted expression of emotions. This study has mainly discussed and explored the“Suite de Trois Morceaux, op.116” with 3 chapters: Chapter 1 is the Introduction, Chapter 2 expounds the brief profile of Godard and his music genre, and Chapter 3 describes the background, analysis and annotation of this opus, and proposes the researcher’s viewpoint and suggestion in terms of the annotation. Then, by means of the exploration of the musical terminologies and expression marks on the music score to make the annotation of music composition to be more completed and expected to give the music performers a correct concept in order to display the thought that can close to the original music idea of the composer.
