| Summary: | 碩士 === 東吳大學 === 社會學系 === 98 === Sociological Theory is a theory about discussing the relationship between man and society, more than that, the position of people in society, and the meaning of society to human being. No doubt, most of the sociologists living in this consumer society are doing this as well. Bauman has a unique and insightful views for the consumer society; in such a liquid modernity society, his views point out the problems and the difficulties that people are facing now.
George Herbert Mead uses the view on social behaviorist as the basic; more than that, he uses it and does a wonderful interpretation for the mind, self and the community. In my view, I think if using the idea of Mead's as the foundation with the theory of consumer society, and then we will know much more about Mead's theory.
Hence, this paper will set Mead and Bauman under the same context of the talks, in order to present the theory of consumer society, furthermore, to make a supplementary and hope to open up a new horizon.
