| Summary: | 碩士 === 東吳大學 === 社會工作學系 === 98 === The ultimate goal of this day care study is to discover the development of day care service through manager’s experience of company in Taipei, and hopefully this research results can be usefully for the development of the day care service in the future in Taiwan. The methodology used in this study is qualitative research, which includes interviewing seven managers in the field.
The major results are as follow: first, making sure the population is helpful for service operating. Second, the facility and equipment of day care need to improve; the concepts of facility are unit care and personal service, about client’s needs, they can not provide totally, but they always do their best, emphasize that hire different kinds of professional workers, including of occupational therapy, physical therapy, social work, nursing, care giver and volunteer; the equipment of day care providing stress on helping clients’ to remember past times when their familiar, providing privacy space and decreasing disturb in small space.
Third, the reasons of the gap between needs and providing are people do not know this service, the traffic service is not completed, the servicing space is not good for clients.
Forth, when the institution is not the only one service that is help to the providing of day care service.
The last one is that it is important to work with the family because day care service is not only to service client, but also to his/her family.
According to above research findings, there are two suggestions for improving
day care service in Taiwan. First, the government has to build traffic service system, increasing more cost of different professional manpower and suitable equipment, service the particular population and propagate this service. Second, the institute can encourage and support care giver’s learning about caring, make study about ‘unit care’ and try to know the efficiency, and investigate the mail reason of creating the gap between needs and providing .
