The purpose of this research was on one hand to show an established professional relationship factors and their impact factors from the collation of results, and to understand the professional relationship between adolescents established experienced, in the role of the professional relationship between the views on social work, as well as external development stages of social workers in different services and professional relationship building of course; on the other hand, the result exhibits the process of how social workers built professional relationship at different service level, which provides some suggestions for the people work in the adolescents extended service region, policy makers and other related staff. Concerning the research method, the author practically chose a teenager service centre in western Taipei City as a case study to inquire with the extended service level. By one on one interviews with the adolescents accepted extended services before and social workers provided extended services, the author collected the feelings and thinking of both two parties in this professional relationship. In addition, based on the information generated from interviews, the researcher summed up some ideas about both the factors and the affecting factors of establishing professional relationship, and how the outreaching social worker and adolescents built professional relationship with each other. There are three major findings in this research. First of all, there are two factors of establishing professional relationship, namely professional techniques and the personal attitude of the social worker. Professional techniques means showing sincerity, empathy, patience, suitable and stable accompany, and proper resource connection; whereas personal attitude of the social worker represents having personal characteristics to understand each adolescent, making adolescents trust them, accumulating the successful experiences of helping adolescents, using no judging words, intervening in special cases, and always looking at the bright side. These are essential factors to build professional relationship. Second, there are some opinions and concepts of extended social workers towards a professional relationship. Firstly, professional relationship is an essential factor in extended service, without good relationship, it is difficult to provide the service. Secondly, the social workers play a significant role as teenager’s relatives or friends, who are responsible and show more empathy and concern to accept them. Thirdly, the relationship shows social workers’ expertise. Fourthly, the relationship could initiate teenagers to perform well. Fifthly, only this professional relationship could represent the organization and connect resource. Also by analysing the process and the method of how social workers and adolescents built relationship, the author discovered four extended service phases: First, find teenagers. Second, observe the daily lives of teenagers. Third, provide professional care and service. Fifth, keep track on teenagers’ situation after service, and contact them. Third, the affecting factors could be divided into three catalogues: (1) The method of extending professional relationship, encompassing various working ways to attract adolescents. (2) The obstacles that may meet when building the professional relationship. (3) How to use the professional techniques. In the end, the researcher provided some suggestions and recommendations for extended social workers on the process of creating professional relationship. The limitations in this study and some feasible research in the future were also discussed in this final part.
