Ostrovsky, the renowned Russian playwright in the 19th century, had devoted his own life in Russian drama. Therefore, we can realize and experience life in all ranks of Russian society in 19th century through masterpieces by Ostrovsky. Research of my thesis exhaustively analyzes the creativity of Ostrovsky to aristocrat’s image in each period.
In present study, it is devided into 3 parts: preface, main text and conclusion.
First of all, the situation of Russian drama in 19th century, the aristocrat’s image under Ostrovsky’s script and the manner of Ostrovsky presenting in his comedy would be introduced in the part of the preface.
Secondly, the main text was divided into 3 chapters, three kinds of aristocrat’s images were discussed in each chapter. Besides, different types of characters were analyzed by several sub sections per chapter.
Chapter 1: <The fast liver (The human of putrefies life)> from Ostrovsky’s work.
Chapter 2: Ostrovsky ‘s <Protagonist- Ideologue>
Chapter 3: the noble businessmen of Ostrovsky’s production.
After the research and analyses on the aristocrat image described in different periods by Ostrovsky, the characters of aristocrats from Ostrovky’s point of view were be sorted out in this study. Furthermore, the life of nobles in 19th century, from different playwrights’ work, we can found out their thought and life style would be changed as the time and environment changing.
