Description
Summary:碩士 === 中國文化大學 === 經濟學系 === 98 === Taiwan has entered an aged society since 1993. People over 65 years old was composed of more than 10% of the labor force in 2010, with a labor force participation rate of 8.05%. Due the increasing importance of the aging problem in Taiwan, our study focuses on the group whose ages are above 45 years old and explores the effects of new Labor Pension Act upon the labor supply decisions of the middle-aged and the elderly people. For the empirical studies, we use the 2002-2004 & 2006-2008 Man Power Utilization Survey from the Directorate-General of Budget. Using the differences-in-differences, logit, and the linear probability models, our empirical results show that, relatively to the young adults, the new Labor Pension Act exerts a significant negative effects on those who aged 45-64.
