Description
Summary:碩士 === 中國文化大學 === 地學研究所 === 98 === No matter which form of retail business, most experts consider selection of the site is a key factor in the success of the business. This study uses GIS applications to consider “Location” in establishing a GIS department store site selection model, to quantify all the location factor information, and to understand the new spatial distribution location of new department stores, therefore proving that using GIS for department store site selection is more efficient than traditional methods. This study picked up five main required location factors and their components for department store site selection, which are: Population, Traffic Accessibility, Attraction, Developing Potential and Competition. The study then used the contents of each main factor to establish GIS data management models to handle the problem of department store site selection. Applying GIS to establish department store site selection models can solve the traditional site selection problem. These models can be used to find area differences and their site selection requirements, and the model factor and the GIS data layers can be updated any time. The application for this model is quite flexible, especially offering clear location conditions during site selection analysis.Through this study in establishing and applying department store GIS site selection model, we clarified the contents and processing procedure of the models. Also we certified the efficiency of GIS site selection models. The study found that there is a trend in Taipei City among retail businesses to move towards Nangang and Dazhi sub-districts (Shilin, Neihu, and Zhongshan). After analysis by the GIS site selection model, we not only discovered the spatial distribution of Taipei’s new department stores, but also analyzed the environmental information surrounding the new department stores. The result of this analysis more or less corresponds to reality, therefore certifying that the GIS site selection method is more efficient than traditional ways.
