Summary: | 碩士 === 亞東技術學院 === 纖維與材料應用產業研發碩士專班 === 98 === Water repellent finishing is usually achieved by coating the fabric with resin or by adding water repellent agents; it may sometimes cause the cost to enhance, hand feeling poorer, deterioration in porous, sweat-pervious, dyeing fastness and texture quality reduce. Besides, residue of finishing agents, of resin and of chemicals in waste water will ecologically harm the environment if they are not properly disposed. In order to address these shortcomings, we have synthesized a series of water repellent disperse dyes with different water resistance degree. All of the dyes were obtained by coupling of diazo components aniline, 4-methylaniline, 4-ethylaniline, 4-butylaniline, 4-octylaniline and 4-dodecylaniline with 1-naphthol, 2-naphthol, 3-hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid, 3-hydroxy-1-naphthoic acid and naphthol AS respectively. All dyes were dyed on polyester fabrics and some of them showed a water repellent property, thereby making the addition of resin and chemical agents unnecessary. It will not only have excellent water repellent properties, but also a superior dyeing fastness. Also it avoids the producing of toxic waste water and thereby reduces manufacturing capital. The ultimate goal of an environment-friendly and green product can now be achieved. From the results of experiments, those dyes with long chain-alkyl group have good water repellent properties; especially the dyes containing the dodecyl group (3-4 grade) and the color-fastness of all the dyed samples were in accord with commercial requirements 4 grade.
