Also, by utilizing transparent tube of T8 as the outer package and installing a high efficiency reflecting plate along the center line in the tube, the emitted light of CCFL is guided toward the same direction and, in this way, the lighting efficiency can be increased. For installing T8-CCFL directly over the inherited lamp plug-in and electromagnetic ballast without replacing the original lamp holder, in this thesis, the space between rear-side of reflecting plate and tube will be used to put in the CCFL driver circuit. It can not only shrink the size but also promote the incentive of customers in renovating their lighting equipments. In this thesis, the proposed T8-CCFL lamp set for replacing the conventional T8-T12 FL will include the following functions: (1) It uses Class-D half-bridge resonant inverter technique to reduce switching losses and to increase the efficiency. (2) The developed equipment must be dimmable and conservational. By applying burst mode to regulate light output, the CCFL output voltage will be intermittently outputted by intermittent triggering signals. The lighting source is dimmable accordingly. (3) It improves the power factor corrector design by employing the magnetic ballast inductor. The LC filter is optimally performed by using passive power factor correction circuit. Based on the inherited inductive feature of electronic ballast, high power factor and excellent input characteristics can be achieved by introducing appropriate capacitor.
