Summary: | 碩士 === 國立聯合大學 === 化學工程學系碩士班 === 98 === The schiff’s base of chitosan (CS) powder with vanillin (van), o-vanillin (o-van), or 2,3-dihydroxybenzaldehyde (DHBD) were prepared. The catalytic ability on catechol oxidation of the schiff’s bases chelated with transition metal ion was investigated.
The formation of schiff’s base and the chelation of schiff’s base with copper, cobalt, nickel, iron, or zinc ion were identified via FTIR analysis. For 120 minutes reaction in 1 mM catechol solution, among all the catalysts, CS/DHBD/Co exhibited the best catalytic ability on catechol oxidation. Lowering temperature and keeping pH level between 5 and 6, CS/DHBD/Co showed optimal catechol removal ability, and the removal amount of catechol by CS/DHBD/Co was increased with the increasing of catechol concentration. While chitosan grafted with lysine to prepare CS/lysine/DHBD/Co catalyst, within 150 minutes of reaction it can remove 75.29% of catechol in 1mM solution.
The prepared CS/DHBD/Co could be a good catalyst for Fenton reaction.
