It provides airlines and passengers different kinds of services. For example, it provides runways which let airplanes take off, aprons where airplanes park, terminals where Customs, restaurants, boarding, and shopping places. Therefore, the performance of an airport can be the index of the development of transportation. We are using Meta-frontier technology to measure the performances of different groups. We applied directional distance function and non-raised Meta-frontier model for short-term analysis. For long-term analysis, we also consider the output-extension, input-reduction and unchanged invest. The experiment proved that the sizes of airports and the convenience of operating hinterland is the critical point which impacts airports’ operating performances. Without considering flight safety issues which is threatened by urbanization, the airports near downtown areas work more effectively than the airports on the outskirts. We should use different operating methods against different targets. Different efficiency exists with respect to the sizes of central airports. Small central airports have higher efficiency than the large ones. The airport facilities in Taiwan are enough to handle the requirement of future development. Government should focus on developing and expanding the main airports instead of expanding all the airports blindly. Target the cost on the chosen airports in order to promote the international competitive ability of our airports. Yang Li 李揚 2010 學位論文 ; thesis 56 zh-TW
