Television is the most easily accessible, which is one of the most choice to use the media. In the emerging environment of electronic communication today, television news presentation in terms of both form and content has diversified, and the audience in such a television news environment also has a free viewing patterns than in the past. The audience for a long time to watch TV will build their own viewing habits, and they may also begin to develop a unique sence of belonging to their channel selection mode and the way of reading news. In that which is worth pondering, not only the environmental impact the audience viewing behavior, and the audience's habits also affect their choice of TV channels. This study is to explore the audience's cultural capital and information capital whether to influence their viewing behavior in terms of the issues of concentrative and active attitude. The study surveys the audience of Banqiao City, employing both qualitative and quantitative research methods, including questionnaires and interviews research approaches. Findings can be summarized in the following points: 1. For the target audience of Banqiao City, their contractive level and active attitude level of viewing cable news appear a kind of negative relationship; in other word, the higher level of contraction is, the lower the active attitude level is. Audience’s information capital level is related with gender difference, and audience’s education background level is related with both cultural and information capitals. 2. On the issue of the relation between audiences’ cultural/ information capital literacy and the contraction level of viewing cable news, audiences’ cultural capital appears a kind of positive relation, but negative on active attitude level. 3. Audience information capital and their occupation are related, and their occupations and active attitude of viewing cable news behavior are in relation too.
