six chapters in the thesis. Chapter one presents the motivation of this research.
Chapter two discusses the author’s perspective, aesthetics, and the expression of the
music. Chapter three is a literature review on collage, tracing how it has been used in
different fields of art. Chapter four examines how the quoted materials are
manipulated in the compositions and the meaning behind the use of collage. The fifth
chapter is an analysis of the author’s compositions, which are Transformation, Prayer,
Distance, and Unsurpassed Beauty. The last chapter concludes with the author’s view
points on the application of collage.
