Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣藝術大學 === 美術學系 === 98 === Similar to the development of art history, the process of personal art creation unfolds and transforms accordingly based on different circumstances and experiences. Reflecting on the past developmental process of art, this study explores how body movement can serve as an interface that influences the essence of personal art making, as well as how body can serve as elements of form to present in the works of visual arts.
Art contains common language. Poets read poems through tempo; dancers perform through music. Art forms like dance and painting share the same attributes, such as space, rhythm, line, body, and symbol, in the process of art creation to open up the possibilities of personal inner exploration. Through theories of rhetoric of the image to examining the forms and contents of artwork, I employ ideas of memory and imagination to articulate the hidden notions in my artwork, such as the visual and traces. Focusing on semantic understanding of line in relation to body movement, I intend to represent the power of transformation through my artwork.
This study also uses the evolving development of art to resonate personal process of art creation and other relevant aspects. The representation of artwork is interwoven with social background, race, culture, religion, science, philosophy, economy, and the artist’s personal accumulation from a psychological level. Specifically, different visual art movements and styles show various forms of art in multiple levels, which can be used to refer and analyze through the practice of art. Each chapter in art history is similar the interwoven fabrics that cannot be stood along. Therefore, the individual characteristic of artwork is associated with the artist’s unique experience. For me, the creation of painting draws from music, guides through lines of body, and use visual elements to express the vibration of live.
