Description
Summary:碩士 === 臺灣大學 === 新聞研究所 === 98 === The purpose of this in-depth reporting is to focus on ten foreign aiders’ experiences about their international aid mission. Through the service process, their observation and reflection could give us a clear picture about the meaning of international aid mission. Foreign aiders need to develop intercultural adaptation ability, thus fit their service for locality needs. In literature review, I introduce the development of international aid, I also discuss the meaning of international aid mission by concepts of cultural competency and cultural sensibility. By means of in-depth reporting, I explore these foreign aiders’ perspectives on the experiences they and local people had, along with the differences, impact, reflection and action that took place in their practices. Foreign aiders must deal with forces from personal perspectives, personal ethics and values, and the multicultural issues, they have also presented a dynamic, cross-cultural learning process at service process. Foreign aid mission is not only touchable stories about participant, but also tasks about how to help local development indeed, I recorded down foreign aiders’ experiences in the hope to strengthen our international aid practice.
