The main purpose of this study was to explore the current of English Education of primary schools in Japan. Three dimensions were included: the history of English education in primary schools; the reasons for reformation currently; and the strategies for advancing the new policy. 3 traits in its historical process were found: an unsteady pace before World War II; a conservative style after World War II; and an almost perfect one with conscientious deliberation at present. Furthermore, concerning the reformation, the researcher found that nationalization nowadays and the unsuitable teaching strategies in the past were the main reasons of the reformation.
