The full scale implementation in Taiwan judiciary was in July 1990. In 1988 the Taiwan Taitung District Court joined this computerization program by the order of the Supreme Court of the Republic of China. However, so far, there is no any article emphasizing the influence of this program on the computer literacy of judicial officers of Taiwan Taitung District Court. Therefore, the aim of this study is to investigate the current computer literacy condition of the judicial officers of Taiwan Taitung District Court, and to analyze the most influential factors that govern the computer literacy condition of the judicial officers. To achieve this goal, the method of investigative questionnaires was adopted in this research. The results of this research could be used to provide further suggestions as references to enhance judicial officers’ computer literacy. To understand the content of computer literacy, literature review was first conducted. Then, based on the practical situation of Taiwan Taitung District Court and the suggestions from computer experts, a tryout of questionnaire was first created. After a pilot test, a series of items, factor and reliability analysis were processed to establish the reliability and validity of the final questionnaire. Then, a test of 150 questionnaires was sent out. A total of 124 questionnaires were returned. Among them 120 were effective. Finally, according to the collected data, statistic analytical methods including means, standard deviation, t-test, and the one-way analysis of variance were performed. The final findings of this study are in the following. 1. In the aspect of attitudes toward computer, there is a significant difference from the gender, age, the nature of work, and the educational background. 2. In the aspect of cognition, skill, and affection into computer, there is a significant difference from the gender, age, the nature of work, and the educational background. 3. In the aspect of Internet use, there is a significant difference from the gender, age, the nature of work, and the educational background. 4. In the aspect of learning intention of computer technologies, there is a significant difference from the gender, age, the nature of work, and the educational background. According to the results obtained, suggestions could be provided to judiciary and further study. Keywords: Computer Literacy, Judicial Officials, Attitude towards Computer.
