The researcher edited a checklist to conduct field surveys to explore the problems and demand of improvement in the issue of the barrier-free facilities. Results are as follows: 1. The barrier-free campus facilities of elementary and secondary schools in Penghu County are of 90% implementation except the elevators and parking spaces, which are less than 50%. 2. The pass rate of qualifications in bathrooms, elevators and parking space need to upgrade. 3." Elementary or secondary schools" ,"with or without self-contained special education class or resource room", "school sizes" and "school locations"have significant effects in barrier-free facilities on the case. 4. " Elementary or secondary schools" ,"with or without self-contained special education class or resource room", "school sizes" and "school locations"have no significant effect in the pass rate of qualifications. 5. To enhance the barrier-free campus environment of primary and secondary schools in Penghu County, it is recommended to mark clearly no barrierobstruction and guide signs, build planning taking into account the special needs of users, regular maintenance, upgrading security barrier-free facilities and convenience of all three directions etc,.. Based on the findings, the researcher makes relevant recommendations for the educational authorities, schools and administrative units.
