The subjects of study are children (from 4.5 to 6.5 years old) from 4 cities ( Taipei city, Kaohsiung City, Kinmen county and Penghu county). We conducted three study tools in order to get subjects’ data to examine the relations of their private speech performance.The three study tools are as follows: Children’s Basic document table, Test of Nonverbal intelligence (TONI-2), Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test-Revised (PPVT-R). This study build up children’s basic document by Children’s Basic document table, and to bring young children into practice by Test of Nonverbal intelligence (TONI-2) and Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test-Revised (PPVT-R) to exclude children with excessively high and excessively low intelligence and verbal skill. The study find that in 「focus」、「describe」, five- year- old children were obviously superior to six-year-old children. In the「doubt」「correct」、「strengthen」 「Emotion expression」、「others」,Female children were obviously superior to Male children. The study find that in「Latter supposes the cognition」、「without helping」、 「not about the work」private speech , there were no obviously difference between five- year- old children and six-year-old children. The main purpose of this study is to survey the Children’s private speech
