Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺東大學 === 幼兒教育學系碩士班 === 99 === This study is to investigate the teaching commitment to graduates for educational program of kindergarten teacher. The purposes of study go as follows: Firstly, the transformation process of teaching commitment to graduates for educational program of kindergarten teacher would be discussed. Secondly, the influences on teaching commitment would be probed. Last but not least, the relationship between teaching commitment and employment condition would also be analyzed. The data are collected by a qualitative and semi-structured in-depth interview. Six graduates of educational program of kindergarten teachers were interviewed. Related data were analyzed in open coding.
Based on the result, three conclusions are stated as follows. First of all, individual differences on transformation process exist. Second, low return of investment reduces teaching commitment. Female who are highly interested in early childhood educator specialized in art and music and taking marriage into career consideration, teaching commitment would be strengthen. Third, those who are now engaged in early childhood educator specialized in art and music have strong commitment while those who are just regular kindergarten teachers or even resigned have low commitment. That is, highly interest of teaching in kindergarten is unable to support kindergarten teachers to be engaged in this career, other issues in reality need to be considered. If these issues cannot be overcome, the teaching commitment would be reduced as time passes.
In the last part of this study, some further suggestions would be given to the authorities concerned, institutes of kindergarten teacher education, kindergartens and kindergarten teachers as references.
