Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北大學 === 民俗藝術研究所 === 99 === The paper takes the woodcarving master Su Shi-Qin for the study. The purpose is preserving and understanding Su Shi-Qin’s works of art and features. Su Shi-Qin(1898~1978), who is from Quanzhou, he was one of the Nankunshen Daitien Temple group of craftsmen in Japanese occupation. After that, the main development area was south of Taiwan. He teaches many apprentices and good at carving figures and animals. The technique he’s got is exquisite and vivid. This paper is focused on the Su Shi-Qin in the woodcarving craft achievement and artistic value. This paper is divided into 5 major chapters with details listed as below:
Chapter 1 . Introduction . The study is about the motive and goals of study, range and methods of study, literature arrangement and review, the structure and process of study.
Chapter 2 . The traditional origins and development of wood carving in Taiwan. By the historical development of traditional woodcarving to the evolution of the modern understanding of Taiwanese current situation and the craftsmen of wood distribution, and analysis of traditional woodcarving techniques to Su Shi-Qin’s works as a system of classification.
Chapter 3 . The development history of Su Shi-Qin. The main content is the life of Su Shi-Qin and exploring the relevance between he and Quanzhou. The content also talks about Su Shi-Qin coming to Taiwan to receive apprentices and teach techniques of course and the system development and distribution of works.
Chapter 4 . Works analysis of Su Shi-Qin. Kaohsiung Daitien Temple, Keliao Baoan Temple and Xuejia Cigi Temple which are the most peak time for examples to analyze Su Shi-Qin’s characteristic of works, and classifying as a common theme to integrate analysis.
Chapter 5 . Conclusions: Summarizing the analysis and research of Su Shi-Qin’s work to recognize the value of Su Shi-Qin in traditional craft industry field.
