Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 生命教育與健康促進研究所 === 99 === This study adopts action research method to discover the effect of life education on pre-school children by using picture books to enhance their empathy with the characters and to understand the process of integrating life-education into a self-designed curriculum. The project of this research is 18 mixed-age children, from age 4 to 5, in a public kindergarten within a public elementary school in Taipei City. In the 8 weeks of experiencing life education curriculum, the researcher collected data from observation records, video-taping teaching process, journals of teaching reflection, the feedbacks from co-workers and parents, worksheet and evaluation sheet. The data had been analyzed mainly by qualitative analysis, partially by quantitative analysis. The conclusions are as follows: 1.Positive effect of life education on the project had been confirmed by using picture books in class. 2.The researcher herself was encouraged by the positive effect to improve her teaching skills and share her ideas with her colleagues: A.The curriculum of shared-experience life education is indeed suitable for children in kindergarten. B.With the method of role-play, children are taught to think and communicate with reasonable thinking. C.The researcher discovered that children in kindergarten need to be encouraged to carry out what they had learned from the picture books and share their feelings on daily basis, the empathy learned then will sustain. D.The ability of curriculum-design will be improved by discussing with professors and experts. E.After the practice of life education, both the children and the researcher realized the importance of empathy promoting. 3.The problem-solving process of life education curriculum had been discussed in this research and researcher had some suggestions for teachers and bureau of education.
