Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 教育傳播與科技研究所 === 98 === Spatial ability plays an important role in geometry learning, and the learning of net act as a transformation bridge in plane and three- dimensional figure for students. The main purpose of this study is to discuss the enhancing of students’ spatial ability after the learning of the cubic net. The teaching material is based on a game-based cubic net learning courseware named “Happy Cuber”(Wang, 2008). In this study, the researcher reinforces the game factors which include the collection of game characters, results record, and error arrangement, the stage of developing cubic net, and the records of students' behaviors in Happy Cuber. This study hopes to helps students establish all categories of spatial abilities by improving the content and interest in learning courseware. In addition, the data is analyzed and compared in order to get substantial change of problem solving processes in net and the impact on learning wills of students. A pre-test and post-test quasi-experimental design was adopted. The experimental group of this study is with seventy-six 5th grade students from three classes using Happy Cuber, and the controlled one is with eighteen 5th grade students from one class using cubic net learning sheets. After three weeks with six sessions of experimenting, an analysis of the results indicates that there are significant differences between the experimental group and control group in the spatial abilities. Besides, the experimental group also shows a significant improvement in the spatial perception, spatial orientation, spatial relation and spatial reasoning. According to the logs recorded by Happy Cuber within the three weeks learning, the progress of the students in accuracy and problem solving time is obvious. The stage of Happy Cuber in developing part is harder than the folding part for students, whether in folding or developing part, the cross-shaped net is the highest accuracy and shortest response in all cubic nets. Happy Cuber not only strengthens students' confidence in solving the problems of net and adopting more strategies but also improves their spatial abilities.
