Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 教育政策與管理研究所 === 98 === The aim of the study is to discuss the discrepancies between sense of humor and school life adjustments of upper graders in Taipei city, and to analyze the influences of sense of humor and school life adjustments. The students of upper graders were surveyed with a questionnaire by using stratified random sampling method. There are 724 copies of valid samples of the study. Valid sample data was processed and analyzed through the methods of the descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, structural equation modeling (SEM). The conclusions of the research are as follows:1. Upper graders have good sense of humor. Among these findings, attitude toward humor tops the list, humor comprehension and humor coping come after respectively, and humor creation follows in the rear. 2. Upper graders adjust school life well. Among these findings, peer adjustment tops the list, study adjustment and teacher-student relationship come after respectively, and discipline adjustment follows in the rear. 3. Boys have greater sense of humor than girls, and there are no significant differences between upper graders. 4. Students from higher social economical status families have better sense of humor than the lower ones. 5. Girls have better school life adjustments than boys, and likewise, the fifth graders adjust school life better than the sixth graders. 6. Students from higher social economical status families have better school life adjustments than the lower ones. 7. The students with sense of humor have significant positive influences upon adapting school life. Humor coping has greater influence, and then come after humor comprehension and attitude toward humor; however, humor creation doesn’t conduct any impact.
Based on these findings, the present study proposed suggestions to families with the upper graders, schools, teachers, education authorities and future researchers.
