This paper introduces the application of Heuristics, Successive Approximation Dynamic Programming (SADP), and IA to solve the generator unit maintenance scheduling problem. IA is performed using the initial solution obtained by the Heuristics method based on the data of all the generator units and their loads.
The proposed method is applied to solve the maintenance scheduling problem of a simple unit system. The IA method is applied on the Tai Power system, and the results are compared with the traditional SADP. The simulation and testing results demonstrate that IA can effectively solve the generator unit maintenance scheduling problem.
