Most people develop their sense of humor spontaneously when they gradually grow up. In this study, we recorded and observed autistic and normal young children’s behavior and then we use qualitative approach to analyze how they show their special characters of humor. The young children under observation are classified into two groups by their ages. One is three-years-old group and the other is six-years-old group. Two people in each group and one of them is autistic and the other one is a normal young child. We are going to discuss the humor behavior of autistic young children in three ways, which are Cognitive Development dimension, Social dimension and Intentionality dimension. And then we can induce that the distinguishing characters of autistic young children’s humor behavior. The result of this study shows that autistic young children achieve the level of humor behavior which they should be in cognitive development dimension. However, they are more likely to show sensory stimulation of humor which belongs to stage 1 and the quantity and quality of humor between autistic and normal young children has a significant difference. This difference increases with aging. In social and intentionality dimension, autistic young children show less intention in humor behavior than normal young children apparently and they are not capable to show higher level of humor very well. The adverse effects come up when they neglect the social regulation and the atmosphere of situation. That makes people around them feel unpleasant when they show their humor inappropriately. The distinguishing character of Autistic young children’s humor behavior is not relevant to their disabilities which are showing interests in specific subject, inflexibility, inappropriate humor and humor with meaningless.
