So I decided to conduct this study to " The Characteristic and Innovation of Percussion Ensemble Performance in 20th Century" as its theme to write research papers. First, literature reviews, includes: (1) the development of percussion instruments (2) percussion playing skills (3) percussion playing style; then research works were selected to (1) instrument preparation (2) performance note (3) instruments setting chart. Will result in Chapter IV, respectively (1) presentation type of the percussion ensemble (2) sound material of the percussion ensemble (3) stage requirements of the percussion ensemble (4) performances difficult of the percussion ensemble, and the fifth chapter (1) improved percussion instruments (2) performance tools development (3) placement of instrument. To determine the results of “ The Characteristic and Innovation of Percussion Ensemble Performance in 20th Century”.
