If it is well observed and planned to promoted as "Ecotourism", it will has both high economic and conservation values. In order to offer the suggestions of planning the routes of ecotourisim activities, the research via line transect sampling around the Sheding area of the Kenting National Park shows the situation of its ecological distribu tion of specific species, the types and quantity of variety wild animals in different seasons, and animals within their home range. According to the result of the observations in 29 transecting lines, including the number of sightings(150 species of 4065 individuals), traces and sounds(33 species and 5320 times)a total of 9385 times, 159 species of wild animals are recorded. There are 10 species of mammals, 24 birds, 11 reptiles, 4 amphibians, 83 insects, 16 arthropods, and 11 mollusks. The most abundant taxon is insects(83 species)and the least one is amphibians(4 species). Based on the records of transecting lines in each area, the middle reaches of Gangkou Stream has the largest number of species(48 species) and Longzaipu Pasture has the least(3 species). The field survey shows that there are three of transecting lines worth being planned and promoted as the tourist track of ecotourism. One of the transecting lines is from the Casuarina forest located west of Fongchueisha to Shahe. Another is from the sounth area of Gangkou Stream to the woods of Taiwan Ebony, and the third is from the woods of Taiwan Ebony to the third section of Kenting Forest Recreation Area.
